Green Heart Binh Quoi
| The Binh Quoi - Thanh Da peninsula site, located along the Saigon River, occupies a unique position right between Tan Son Nhat International Airport of Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc, while also being related to a string of distinctly characterised peninsula districts along the river. It is immediately well-situated in the vicinity of many development hubs, high-end residential areas, as well as innovation centres. While there is a huge potnetial for urban growth, the existing low-lying wetland on the project site poses a challenge of flooding and an opportunity to rethink greenery and climate resilience through landscape. |
| The brief calls for a 200ha park within a 426ha project site boundary, which means safeguarding green spaces with a 1:1 ratio of green coverage and urban deveopment. We see this as an opportunity to tap on the existing natural landscape and heritage buildings as the basis of our urban design for Binh Quoi - Thanh Da. |
Land use will be distributed to maintain a healthy and sustainable balance between urban development and green spaces, by intensifying development towards the waterfronts and away from the green heart of the peninsula.
